Overall, yesterday's lineup performed very well in netting 227.5 fantasy points. Everyone netted double digit fantasy points. Let's give a shout out to the two top scorers:
- Hello Melo! Mr. Trimble went for 40.7 fantasy points last night in the Terps 4 point win over Nebraska. He's quite the ankle breaker:
- Yogi da man! Ferrell dropped 34 fantasy points. He keeps this hot streak up and the Hoosiers make the tourney, he will be a dynamic player to watch in the opening weekend.
Today's Daily Fantasy Sports Picks
F Rakeem Christmas $9,900 – 36.1 fppg – PITT@SYRCS
The toast of the town on Wednesday night by dropping 48.1
fantasy points. Last time out versus Pitt, Christmas only went for 45.9. At
home this time around, expect it to be Christmas in February all over again!
F Perry Ellis $7,900 – 25.1 fppg – TCU@KANS
After Monday’s heartbreaking loss at WVU, Ellis will benefit
from a game against TCU in the friendly confines of Allen Fieldhouse. Ellis is
the modicum of consistency. He has stepped up his offensive game lately and
should continue that trend against TCU’s short bench.
F Trevon Bluiett $5,300 – 20.5 fppg - BUTLR@XAV
Finding a player averaging 20+ fppg for $5,300 is a rare
gem. Bluiett plays well at home and is a very capable scorer on the low block.
Yes, Butler has a tough D but they gave up 76 to Xavier last time out and this
time the two teams will meet up at Xavier. Bluiett had 9 pts, 5 rebounds, &
2 assists in that game.
F Jonathan Holmes $6,600 – 21.7 fppg – IOWST@TEX
Playing ISU on the road back in late January Holmes went for
33 fantasy points in double double night. His rebounds have stayed consistent
all year but his scoring has been down the last 3 games mainly due to foul
trouble. Take a chance on history repeating itself against the cyclones for
$6,600.
F Johnathan Motley $4,500 – 16.5 fppg - KANST@BAYLR
In 17 minutes of action last time versus KSU, Motley managed
11 fantasy points. He’s not likely to have a 20+ game but if he can be
somewhere around his 16.5 fppg average, he’s a solid pickup at $4,500 in that
his low price allows you to splurge on someone like Christmas.
G Kelly Oubre $6,500 – 17.4 fppg - TCU@KANS
The rising freshman has become a fantasy beast at home this
year. He’s averaged 29.2 fppg in his last 4 home games. Expect the rims to be
friendly for him again in Allen on Saturday. Gotta love the joy Oubre plays with as well. Always a smile on his face and even makes time to get some good luck from the refs:
G Marcus Paige $7,400 – 24.6 fppg – GTECH@UNC
Paige struggled at Duke as he was hindered by Duke’s D all
night long. He shouldn’t have the same problem at home versus the Yellow
Jackets. Consistently scoring in the upper 20 fantasy points per game, Paige is
a solid pick for Saturday.
G Bryce Jones $6,000 – 24.2 fppg - IOWST@TEX
Mr. Jones went for 28.3 fantasy points last time out versus
the longhorns. His points have been sub 20 fppg his last 4 games so his value
has dropped. At $6k, he’s worth taking a shot that he can rebound to his
scoring & rebounding (impressive for a guard) prowess of earlier in the
year.
G Wayne Selden Jr. $5,900 – 18.1 fppg - TCU@KANS
Like Oubre, Selden has been a stud at home this year. He’s
been 22+ fantasy points in his last 3 home games. If he’s hot from the field,
he’s capable of going for near 30 fantasy points. Not bad for a price tag of
$5,900.

College Basketball Daily Fantasy Sports Picks - Thursday, February 19th
Tobacco Road delivered in all its glory last night! UNC looked poised to pull off an impressive upset until Tyus Jones took over. The Cameron Crazies had plenty to be excited about in the comeback overtime win.
It was interesting to see ESPN's full blown coverage after the game. Did not know that the Dukies go all Texas A&M and create a post game bonfire to celebrate.
As for the fantasy impacts of the game, Duke guard Tyus Jones was about as hot as the raging victory fire. He racked up 38.4 fantasy pts by dropping 22 points while adding 7 rebounds & 8 assists.
The night delivered two other big time studs. One expected and the other a mild surprise:
Rakeem Christmas delivered a happy fantasy present by going off for 48.1 pts in the upset of Louisville. Beast mode, activated!
Iowa State's Jameel McKay also had a huge night in the Cyclone's impressive road win at Okie State. 44.8 pts for a $6800 price tag = VALUE galore!
Today's Daily Fantasy Sports Picks
Thursday night is normally a lighter night on the college schedule. It makes for some interesting fantasy plays. You can usually afford more of the top players for that night since a lot of the big time point producers have already played throughout the week. Expect your total scores to be lower than previous nights as value picks and a balanced lineup play a more important role. Let's check out the lineup for tonight:
F Shaq Goodwin $6,100 – 19.9 fppg - UCONN@MEMPH
Can Baby Shaq 2.0 keep his four game 30+ fppg streak going? It will be tough against a stout UCONN frontline. Game is at home & $6,100 if worth taking a chance that he stays hot and plays with cat-like reflexes like his namesake:
F Markus Kennedy $7,900 – 22.2 fppg - TEMPL@SMU
Went for 28.9 fantasy points at Temple. Playing at home this time around, Kennedy should put up a large enough number to justify his $7,900 premium value. He also looked great against UCONN’s big men in Saturday’s thrashing of the defending champs.
A.J.
Hammons $7,800 – 25.2 fppg - PURDU@INDNA
Indiana has a surprisingly parmesan cheese like defense this year. Hammons went for 33.1 fantasy points last time against the Hoosiers. Look for a repeat performance tonight.
F
Rodney Purvis $4,500 – 14 fppg - UCONN@MEMPH
To be able to afford some of the upper echelon players, we need to find some value plays to take a chance on. Purvis has played over 30 minutes in each of the last 4 games & has averaged 12 points in that stretch.
F
Trashon Burrell $4,700 – 19.9 fppg - UCONN@MEMPH
Capable of putting up 30+ fantasy points, Burrell is worth taking a chance on here. Averages 9 points per game, over 5 rebounds per game, & 2 assists per game.
G T.J. McConnell $7,900 – 26.3 fppg - USC@ARZNA
Talk about a well-rounded stat stuffer. McConnell has averaged 36 fppg in his last 4 games. He can score, rebound, & dish out the assists like a fine chef (averages 6 per game).
G
Yogi Ferrell $8,000 – 27 fppg - PURDU@INDNA
“All I do is score” doesn’t ring true for Yogi anymore. Consistently uses his athletic driving ability to set up others. His 30+ fppg over his last 4 games are due to his double digit scoring and 5-10 assists per game. Look for him to exceed the 26.7 fantasy points he netted last time out against the Boilermakers.
G
Melo Trimble $7,800 – 25 fppg - NEB@MRLND
Trimble has averaged over 19 points in his last 3 games going for an average of 28 fppg. Playing at home in front of the Turgeonites (Mark Turgeon Fan Club), he should have a big night against the Cornhuskers.
G B.J. Taylor $5,300 – 21.3 fppg - UCF@TLANE
$5,300 – not too shabby for a guy who went for 45.2 fantasy points last time out versus Tulane. If his shooting touch is on, expect a big 25+ night for Taylor.

College Basketball Daily Fantasy Sports Picks - Wednesday, February 18th
Kentucky keeps marching on. The wildcats dispatched Tennessee on the road last night and have a real shot now at matching Bob Knight's 1976 Indiana Hoosiers as the last team to have an undefeated season. Let's see what Mr. Knight's thinks of that prospect:

GIFSoup
GIFSoup
A recap of last night's picks:
Walmart's Employees of the Month (Top Value Players)
- In the fantasy world, Andrew Harrison backed up his solid streak of late with 23.6 fantasy points, not bad for a $5600 value.
- Isaac Copleand ($5,300) was another nice suprise as he dropped 31.8 fantasy points.
- Branden Dawson threw down 47.6 fantasy points by making 10 field goals and snagging 13 rebounds. Reminds me of his Access Denied block versus Maryland back in January:
Debbie Downer
- Say it ain't so Rico! Mr. Gathers was stymied by the Red Raider's D and barely managed double digit fantasy points. 10.2 fantasy points isn't going to cut it at a price tag of $9,300.
Today's Daily Fantasy Sports Picks
F Rakeem Christmas $9,700 – 35.65
fppg - LOU@SYR
What’s Christmas done since
Christmas? Only averaged 35+ fppg with a low of 22 & a high of 52 fantasy
points. He’s also been a stud against fellow big men like Kennedy Meeks of UNC
& Jahlil Okahor of Duke.
F Le'Bryan Nash $8,000 – 27.49 fppg
- IOWST@OKST
Playing at home, Nash should go for
prime-time points against the Cyclones in what figures to be a shootout. Nash
has been excellent in his last 4 games averaging 28.23 fantasy points. He has
been starting to take charge of late in the Cowboys push for the NCAA tourney.
F Jameel McKay $6,800 – 22.69 fppg
- IOWST@OKST
High energy player who cleans up
the glass better than Windex. In a game with a lot of shots, there should be a
lot of rebounds to be had. Averaging 28.98 fantasy points in last 4 games.
F Tony Parker $5,800 – 21.33 fppg -
UCLA@ARZST
Another excellent rebounder and low
post scorer. Can be somewhat turnover prone but the Sun Devils have a porous D
and rank 245th in steals per game.
Averages 30+ minutes per game. Not
bad for a big man. Should have the opportunity to grab plenty of offensive rebounds
as KSU doesn’t have a lot of sharp shooters and TCU doesn’t play with a huge
frontcourt.
G Tyus Jones $7,600 – 24.48 fppg -
UNC@DUKE
Home game, check. Biggest rivalry
on the eastern seaboard, check. Blood pressure elevated, check. Jones will be
up for this one as well as the rest of the team. Jones has the ability to rack
up some points himself but should also benefit from dishing out assists to his
talented surrounding cast against a weak UNC defense.
G Anthony Hickey $6,600 – 22.93
fppg - IOWST@OKST
Oklahoma’s minute guard has been a
dynamo as of late. Scoring 23+ fantasy points in 5 of his last 6 games.
G Nate Mason $4,900 – 20 fppg - NWE@MIN
A downer of a game Sunday against
Indiana has dropped Mason’s stock. Take a chance on him for under $5k that he
can rebound against the Gophers will one of his better games where he is a
scorer and a facilitator.
G Riley LaChance $5,000 – 20.14
fppg - VAN@FLO
Another
value pick at $5k. LaChance had 19.2 fantasy points in his last outing against
Florida. If his shooting game is on point, LaChance can rack up the points in a
hurry. Gators are vulnerable this year so I’m taking a (la)chance on Riley! Also, see additional lineup analysis from Scott at Rotogrinders at https://rotogrinders.com/blog-posts/cbb-daily-plays-wednesday-february-18th-570509. He and I concur on Tyus Jones & Tony Parker.
Enjoy the battle for Tobacco Road tonight and may your picks bring all your wildest dreams to come true!

College Basketball Daily Fantasy Sports Picks - Tuesday, February 17th
Today's Daily Fantasy Sports Picks:
Even though the school named after him didn't play yesterday, George Washington would've loved the great action Monday night. Maybe not so much the blow that Sterling Gibbs delivered to Ryan Arcidiacono's nose (not going to post in this blog but you can view here: http://sportsgif.com/sterling-gibbs-gif/), but definitely the excitement of the finish to the Kansas - West Virigina slugfest.
After trailing by 11 in the first half, Kansas rebounded to hold a one point lead with 8.9 seconds left. That is until, Juwan Staten drove the length of the court to score with 3.9 seconds left.
Kansas' Jamari Traylor wisely threw a full length Tom Brady-like pass to a streaking Perry Ellis who caught the ball in stride only to see his finger roll bounce of the back of the rim and out.
Even in the loss, yesterday's picks of Kansas players fared well. Particularly Ellis who has been stepping it up lately. He lead the Jayhawks with 19 pts, 5 rebounds, & 2 assists. Frank Mason kept up his double digit scoring streak by dropping 18 pts & dishing out 2 assists. Kelly Oubre continues to elevate his draft stock with a 14 pt & 7 rebound performance.
The Virginia-Pitt game also yielded some positive results from yesterday's picks. Anthony Gill delivered another solid performance by chipping in 12 pts & 6 rebounds. HiAt $6,200, you can't ask for much better than that. Jamel Artis didn't disappoint either. His higher price tag of $8,000 was well worth the 20 pts & 8 rebounds.
And don't forget about Monday's other games. Snowed out the day before, Miami and Boston College also played out a double overtime thriller while Butler survived a stiff test from Creighton.
Moving on to Tuesday of ESPN's rivalry week, there are plenty of exciting matchups and value plays for your lineup in 7pm ET games:
F R Gathers $9,300 - 30.79 fppg
Gotta love Gather's rebounding prowess and motor against the outmanned & undersized Texas Tech Red Raiders . Dude's a man child!
F B Dawson $9,200 - 30.47 fppg
Dawson should be up for a rivalry game against Michigan. Averaging a double double, he dropped 40.5 fantasy points against Michigan the last time they squared off.
F K Mitoglou $5,400 - 17.41 fppg
The 6' 10" Greek native is averaging 10 pts & 5 rebounds per game. He's been hot lately averaging 25.8 fppg.
F I Copeland $5,300 - 11.66 fppg
Lit up Seton Hall for 30.1 fppg in his last outing by hitting three 3's. If he can stay hot from three, then he's a steal at $5,300.
F D Knowles $5,800 - 21.33 fppg
Solid all-around player who stuff the stat sheet with points, rebounds, and blocks. Consistently scoring 20+ fppg.
G C Mann $6,200 - 21.65 fppg
Landed 23.4 fantasy points in his last outing versus South Carolina. Another consistent box score filler that has been averaging 11.29 pts/game & 5.46 reb/game.
G Andrew Harrison $5,600 - 17.10 fppg
Aaron Harrison's twin brother Andrew has had the hot hand of late averaging 21.68 fppg over his last 4 games. He may not be as natural of a scorer as his brother but he's much better at racking up the assists. On a team with future NBA all-stars to pass to, assists are another great way to rack up fantasy points.
G R Jordan $6,700 - 23.95 fppg
Averaging 28.28 fantasy points over his last 5 games, Jordan is a versatile enough guard to rack up some points against Georgetown. He's a talented scorer the also rebounds and passes well.
G I Cousins $6,400 - 22.43 fppg
OU has a nice complement to Buddy Hield in Isaiah Cousins. He's another athletic guard that can provide points for you in other categories than points. He's also a strong enough outside shooter to be able to score without having to venture into the lane against Texas' lanky big men.

College Basketball Daily Fantasy Sports Picks - Monday, February 16th
Today's Daily Fantasy Sports Picks:
A very happy President's game to the DFS community! Originally created for George Washington's birthday in 1879, the holiday was later expanded to honor Lincoln in 1971 as his birthday is also in mid-February.
In honor of those great Americans, let's try to help you make some Washington's & Lincoln's today (or Benjamins for you high rollers out there). Yesterday's lineup fared well with a few exceptions. Frank the Tank went streaking in the quad for a cool 39.7 pts and Yogi Ferrel kept up his hot streak while dropping 27.1 pts. Brandon Goodwin was also a nice surprise to chip in 32.1 pts while only costing $5,700. $178/pt is pretty darn economical. The only real downers were Iowa's Adam Woodbury at 8.9 pts and the Gopher's Nate Mason at 4.9 pts. Both are valued at $5,300 so you expect some single digit outputs to occur.
Here's what Frank the Tank had to say about his solid performance:
Now on to tonight's Big Monday contests. The Pitt Panthers travel to Charlottesville for a tough road test and the Kansas Jayhawks venture to Morgantown to face the Mountaineers hectic D. Look for the Jayhawks to take advantage of West Virgina's press behind solid ball handlers Frank Mason and Devonte Graham. Frank Mason has hit double digits points in twenty plus games and is the model of consistency. Expect some points to be put up in this one. Tonight's lineup is banking on those young Jayhawks coming through. Also, Anthony Gill from Virginia should be able to keep up his impressive scoring of late at home against the Pitt D that gave up 76 to the Tar Heels on Saturday.
F P Ellis $7,900 - 25.01 fppg
F A Gill $6,200 - 21.91 fppg
F J Pinkston $5,900 - 20.33 fppg
F J Artis $8,000 - 24.13 fppg
F D Grantham $5,600 - 19.48 fppg
G F Mason $7,200 - 24.37 fppg
G W Seldon Jr. $5,900 - 18.46 fppg
G K Oubre $6,500 - 17.08 fppg
G K Dunham $6,600 - 21.27 fppg
Enjoy these mid-February battles. March and the Madness is right around the corner!

College Basketball Daily Fantasy Sports Picks - Sunday, February 15th
Today's Daily Fantasy Sports Picks:
Lots to love for yesterday's Valentine's version of Saturday hoops! Kansas started off the day with an exciting comeback victory over the Baylor Bears. Baylor jumped to an early lead hoping to win for the first time ever at Allen Fieldhouse. Kansas roared back in the second half for a solid win, maintaining their two game Big 12 lead.
Later in the day, Danny Manning almost pulled off another miracle by coaching the Demon Deacons to the brink against #2 ranked Virginia. Down 1 with 3 seconds left, the Cavalier's suffocating D kept Wake Forest from even getting a shot off.
Hinkley Fieldhouse (site of Hoosiers lore) was the site of another classic later in the day. All tied up at 65, Villanova's Darrun Hilliard was pure from three to give the Wildcats a 3 point win over the stingy Butler Bulldogs.
In the fantasy world, another promising start fizzled out later in the day. Shaq Goodwin kept his 30 pt streak rolling and Anthony Gill put up a solid performance against Wake Forest. However, LSU's Jarrell Martin didn't have his usual 30+ pt game and FSU's Phil Cofer laid a single digit egg with 3.6 pts in the Seminole's 4 pt win over Georgia Tech. I was hoping for more from Cofer after his MONSTROUS dunk a few days ago:
Lost a few close head-to-head matchups with Saturday's results below. Today's a new day though. Let's see what we have for the Sunday showdowns:
Look for Sam Dekker and Yogi Ferrell to have big games today. Both have been heating up lately as we near March. I'm also banking on Frank the Tank living up to his high billing. The dude is a workhorse and fun college player to root for. Hope you and yours enjoyed Valentines yesterday and buena suerte today!
Saturday's results below & Sunday's picks after that:
